Entertainment in Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire’s islands include Ramsey, where you can spot seal pups, Skomer, which is great for puffins, and Caldey.
Pembrokeshire is steeped in history, and has many castles to explore. Carew Castle is close to Tenby and is one of Pembrokeshire’s finest, dramatically located on the shores of a millpond. Others to visit include those at Manorbier and Pembroke, and Picton Castle.
And don’t miss the walk form Bosherton, with its lily ponds, across Broad Haven sands and along the cliffs to St Govan’s Chapel, a tiny hermit’s chapel on the shore of a deserted cove.
Pembrokeshire is a haven for artists and craftspeople, with many studios and galleries to visit.
For thrill seekers, there’s Oakwood Theme Park, just 15 miles away, which boasts the world’s most exciting wooden roller coaster, Megafobia. Next door to Oakwood, Canaston Bridge, you can test your mental and physical skills at the Crystal Maze which also houses a ten lane bowling alley. Heatherton Sports Park at Gumfreston near Tenby has an all-weather sports park including pitch and putt, golf driving range, air pistol, laser clay pigeon shooting, archery, bumper boats, go karts, indoor bowls, horse riding etc. Better still, entry to Heatherton is absolutely free!
For the energetic amongst you there is quad biking in Ritec Valley and karting at Carew with full expert training.
For the very young, there is the Dinosaur Park at Gumfreston near Tenby. The Dinosaur theme has a daily programme of activities. Then there is the popular Folly Farm Adventure Park at Kilgetty near Tenby with a wide variety of animals. Opportunity to feed selected animals. Falconry demonstations, Europe's largest indoor vintage fair, indoor and outdoor play areas. Manor House Wild Animal Park at St. Florence, near Tenby has over 200 species of animals, birds, fish and reptiles.
